is wanted in friday's fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend abc7 news reporter lisa amin guleziana has the story. >> reporter: they arrived with crosses and condolences. they are mourning the loss of their friend and family member, sandra gonzales. the young mother was stabbed to death a few feet from her home on north first street. now the manhunt is on for juan ramirez, the ex-boyfriend. >> he's apparently been trying to talk our victim for the last double years, multiple encounters with the police, reporting this type of activity. >> they said she lived here with her ten-year-old son she was outside a few feet away in the parking lot when ramirez stabbed her, stabbing her in the head and arms. >> held her head up, kept pressure on it and i said who did this? can you give me a name, any name? she couldn't really talk. >> ramirez ran away and police in the s.w.a.t. team surrounded the area. a door to door search led nowhere. during that time dents were told to stay in their homes. lowell was in his apartment for three hours. he knew her, but he didn't know about her ex-boyfriend. >> s

. katie. >> lisa, thank you. investigators in quantico, virginia have identified the three marines who died thursday in a murder-suicide. the shooter and one of the victims is from the bay area. 25-year-old sergeant lopez of pacifica shot two co-workers before killing himself. in a statement his 81-year-old great grandfather the marines told us they were investigating more and that they would let us know. he wasn't the type to do stuff like that. we did contact lopez's family by phone in pacifica and they declined to offer any further comment. one of his victims is 19-year-old lance cpl. sarah of oakley. her family asked us not to use any pictures of her and we are honoring that request. sergeant lopez was a machine gunner and instructor at the marine base. on thursday night inside one of the barracks they say he gunned down two people from then shot himself. agents have not given a motive. stay with abc7 news for any developments in this story. >> we do have developing news right now. we just received word a soldier from hayward has died. 31-year-old sergeant first place james grissom

in concord. and tonight, group is trying to help her recover from the tragic loss. lisa amin gulezian is live in concord with the story. lisa? reporter: very emotional time for volunteers, students, teachers, and most of all the family. just a little while ago the big unveil happened inside that apartment. oh! oh, my god. reporter: 60 people volunteered to give the family a home makeover. she and their daughter hannah moved here in june. two days after the husband and her youngest daughter died. solomon and the daughter were out for a bike ride on april 7th last year. when they were run over be a 17-year-old driver. hannah survived the crash. the 12-year-old and her mother moved out of the family home and are trying to start fresh here. that's when a clubbed named healing spaces, made up of students from nearby high schools, decided to give in the much-deserving mother and daughter a makeover. >> next month is the anniversary, and so we hoped to take some of the salt out of the wound they have experienced, and that's a total reward. reporter: the focus of the makeover was on hannah and giving

to feel like the rest of our kids. and there was a difference of opinion with some supervisors. >> lisa says officials threatened to take her buy logical sons. so, just two months before he was supposed to be adopted, maurice was removed from the home. >> it was a ten-year emptiness. i couldn't talk to anybody about it. i couldn't call somebody and say, remember this or that? it was a void. >> but they never stopped trying to find each other. lisa's husband died in 1998. she remarried, changed her last name, and moved. complicating the search. but she found a message on myspace six years ago. maurice responded. >> she said, hey baby. and i said, i got to call you right back. >> he and lisa soon met up after years of visits. maurice told her he still wanted to be adopted. he filed the paperwork because he wanted to know that she was his valentine. >> made it to the weekend. >> a nice weekend. >> gorgeous. >> timing is everything. people want to get outside. we have st. patrick's day, but we need the rain fall. we'll get that after the weekend is finished. peek outside right now,
